My love of sewing has kept me happy for over 40 years and making new items for myself and my customers is just as exciting now as it was when I first started.
I started sewing for others when I was 11 years old. Today I enjoy creating items for an ever expanding customer base of family, friends and people I connect with at shows and on the web.
My passion is garment sewing, mostly wearable art, for myself, for gifts and to sell to others. I love creating one-of-a-kind items for friends, family and customers. My skills are mostly self-taught and include, for the past 11 years, machine embroidery and needle-felting.
I have constructed wedding and attendant's gowns, baby layettes, soft dolls and toys, Christmas decorations and ornaments, linens, Halloween costumes, and church and school pageant costumes. My latest challenge is learning to digitize (for stitching) artwork; both for myself and for my customers.
To add to the fun, we also offer items for our dear pets and their owners.
I've transitioned from sewing just for the love of it, to selling items at shows and on my web site store and Facebook page.
Sew Mary Beth [So Mary Beth] is the name of my company and online store. The name is derived from my love of sewing but mostly about the items I create, my attention to detail and my goal of always exceeding my customers' expectations.
Sew Chewzy [So Choosey] is the name of the part of my web site and store that focuses on people and their pets. The name was derived from my cousin Sue's dog boarding business (So Chewzy) . Sue and I have partnered together to offer this new set of pet related items to our customers.
